Learning All About Oscar

So, life as a Mother of four seems to be a perpetual swing between perfect blissl and intimidating chaos.

Whilst I adore my little bundle of joy, I would be lying if I said that he didn't throw up (ha! interesting choice of wordage) a few new challenges for the family.

We are learning though - learning together, all of us. We're only just beginning to understand what really makes Oscar tick, but in the last three weeks since his arrival I have learned that he is absolutely not a fan of his swing...or his Moses basket....or his crib... or in fact, anywhere that involves being put down (can we say high maintenance?). I've learned that he passionately hates getting the hiccups. I know that cold wet wipes make him wail like a banshee, and that bath-time is not tolerated well....even with the addition of bubbles and a rubber duck.

On the up-side, I can testify that he adores being swaddled tightly, and loves to fall asleep with his stomach against mine, his soft little head resting on my chest. Booby juice gives him wind, and along with it the the-most-heart-melting gummy grins. I know that he already knows me. His eyes follow me, and he looks deep into my soul, and I wonder just what he is learning about me!

Whilst Mummy and Daddy could definitely use a little more sleep, the little guy is thriving.
I'm in love with myhandsome Prince and finding new ways every day to juggle his needs with the needs of my other three wonderful munchkins.

Life may be a little crazy for a while, but it's my kind of crazy. :)
