As a young(ish) Mama to a large(ish) family I know that in some ways I am judged more harshly than parents of one or two children. If my two year old throws a wobbly in the supermarket or my newborn is screaming, I truly feel the eyes boring into the back of my head. I have become convinced that if my children do not look well put together or behave impeccably that passers by will be tutting and asking themselves why we would continue to have more children since clearly we struggle to maintain and discipline them.
It is almost like parents with one child in melt down are sympathised with, but the same is not the case if you choose to increase your family further.
See.... Neuroticism! (and possibly a dollop of paranoia!)
This has led me to almost obsessively preening the poor kids when we are out and about. I smoothe down collars, pull up crinkled tights and readjust hemlines every 5 minutes. I
maniacally scrub dirty faces and wipe running noses. I am driving myself and poor hubby,
insane!
So that is where I am at as a mother of four! Tell me it gets easier?!? :-)

Nope. I wonder how my mother raised 8 kids. She's a hero! Moms are:)
